According to Ayurvedic tradition, water that has stood for a certain time in a vessel or cup made of pure copper is called *Tamra Jal*. This ancient tradition is still a valued part of a mindful and natural lifestyle today. Ayurveda believes that storing water in a copper vessel for 8 – 10 hours has a beneficial effect on the balance of the three bioenergies (doshas) in the human body: Vata (element of air), Pitta (element of fire) and Kapha (element of water). In addition, water stored in copper vessels naturally acquires alkaline properties, which helps maintain the pH balance in the body.

Oxidation – a natural process
Pure copper is a living, natural material that reacts to oxygen, moisture and water. This can cause colour changes, such as the formation of brown or black shades, and over time may lead to the formation of a blue-green layer (patina). This is a completely natural oxidation process that is typical of genuine, pure copper. The change in colour does not affect the quality or functionality of the product and can be easily removed. With regular maintenance, the cup retains its warm copper colour and characteristic appearance.

Detailed care instructions can be found in the maintenance information included in the order confirmation email. Regular cleaning keeps the copper shiny and in optimal condition.
