Ayurveda has long praised the benefits of drinking water from copper vessels. According to Ayurvedic principles, storing water in a copper bottle or cup for 8–10 hours helps establish balance of the three bioenergies (doshas) in the human body: Vata (element of air), Pitta (element of fire) and Kapha (element of water). In addition, water stored in copper vessels naturally acquires alkaline properties, which helps maintain pH balance in the body.

Over time, copper naturally changes color as a result of oxidation; this process is called patina formation. Stains may also appear on the material. These are natural properties of copper that have no negative effect on the safety of drinking from the vessel. Pure copper reacts with oxygen, water and substances contained in water, such as sulfur. The color change actually indicates a high copper content and confirms the material's effectiveness in purifying water. Discoloration on the inside is harmless, although the vessel (bottle, carafe, dispenser or cup) can be cleaned if the staining is too pronounced.

Copper vessels are intended exclusively for water; they should not be used for liquids such as milk, citrus juices or acidic drinks.

Do not wash in the dishwasher. Clean with natural soap, a soft sponge and room-temperature water. Do not expose to direct sunlight.

Our unique copper bottles, jugs, water dispensers and cups have been handmade in India for centuries. Thanks to the handcrafting, every piece is unique and may differ slightly from the photograph. Minor imperfections may also appear on the material, which are part of the natural properties of copper.
