According to Ayurvedic tradition, water that has been stored for some time in a vessel or cup made of pure copper is called *Tamra Jal*. This ancient practice is still highly valued as part of a mindful and natural lifestyle. Ayurveda holds that storing water in a copper vessel for 8 to 10 hours favourably influences the balance of the three bioenergies – the so-called *doshas* – flowing in the human body (Vata: the element of air, Pitta: the element of fire and Kapha: the element of water). Water stored in copper vessels also naturally acquires alkaline properties, which helps maintain the body's pH balance. Benefits

Oxidation – a natural process
Pure copper is a living natural material that reacts to oxygen, moisture and water. This can cause colour changes, such as brown or black tones, and over time may lead to the formation of a blue-green layer (patina). This is a completely natural oxidation process and a characteristic feature of genuine, pure copper. The colour change does not affect the quality or function of the product and can be easily removed. With regular care, the cup retains its warm copper colour and characteristic appearance.
