According to Ayurvedic tradition, water that has been stored for a certain time in a bottle made of pure copper is called *Tamra Jal*. This ancient practice is still valued today as part of a mindful and natural lifestyle. Ayurveda holds that storing water in a copper bottle or vessel for 8 – 10 hours has a beneficial effect on the balance of the three bioenergies – the so-called *doshas* – flowing through the human body (Vata: element of air; Pitta: element of fire; and Kapha: element of water). In addition, water stored in copper vessels turns into naturally alkaline water, which helps maintain the pH balance in the body.

Oxidation – a natural process
Pure copper is a living natural material that reacts to oxygen, moisture and water. Colour changes may occur, for example brown or black tones, and over time a blue-green layer (patina) may form. This is an entirely natural oxidation process that is typical of genuine, pure copper. The colour change does not affect the quality or functionality of the product and can be easily removed. With regular care, the bottle retains its warm copper colour and characteristic appearance.

Detailed care instructions can be found in the maintenance information included in the order confirmation email. Regular cleaning keeps the copper shiny and in optimal condition.
