Ayurveda has praised the beneficial effects of drinking water from copper vessels since ancient times. According to Ayurvedic principles, water stored in a copper bottle or cup for 8–10 hours has a balancing effect on the three bioenergies (doshas) in the human body: Vata (the element of air), Pitta (the element of fire) and Kapha (the element of water). In addition, water stored in copper vessels naturally acquires alkaline properties, which helps to maintain the body's pH balance.

Due to natural oxidation, copper changes colour over time – this process is called patina formation. Stains may also appear on the material. These are natural properties of copper that have no negative effect on the safety of drinking from the vessel. Pure copper reacts with oxygen, water and substances contained in water, such as sulphur. This very reaction testifies to a high copper content and confirms the vessel's effectiveness in purifying water. Discolouration on the inside is harmless; however, if the discolouration is too pronounced, the bottle, jug, water dispenser or cup can be cleaned.

Copper vessels are suitable for water only; they should not be used for liquids such as milk, citrus juices or acidic drinks.

Do not wash in the dishwasher. Clean using natural soap, a soft sponge and room-temperature water. Do not expose to direct sunlight.

Our unique copper water bottles, jugs, water dispensers and cups have been handmade in India for centuries. Thanks to the handcrafting, every piece is unique and may differ slightly from the photograph. Minor irregularities may also appear on the material, which belong to the natural properties of copper.
