Copper mug with a handle: A traditional sip of purity

Treat yourself to an Ayurvedic ritual even during basic activities such as drinking water. This copper mug with a handle relies on a traditional, stable cylindrical shape and a truly generous 500 ml capacity, which makes it easier to maintain your daily drinking routine without constantly going back for water. A great advantage is its practical handle, which ensures a firm and comfortable grip. To please your eye as well, we have prepared it for you in two unique design patterns – simply choose the variant that resonates most with your style.
How to use the copper cup correctly?

This mug is created exclusively for clean, still and cold water. The traditional procedure recommends filling the mug in the evening before bed, letting the water activate overnight and drinking it in the morning right after waking up.

Keep in mind that copper reacts sensitively with its surroundings, so never use the mug for acidic drinks such as fruit juices, fizzy lemonades or lemon water – an undesirable chemical reaction could occur. Because copper is an excellent conductor of heat, we do not recommend pouring hot teas or coffee into it either, as you could easily burn yourself on the heated metal. Since it is a pure and naturally soft metal, handle it gently so that it does not get dented in case of a fall.
Care for the cup and its cleaning

The magic of copper lies in the fact that it is a living material. Over time, in air and in contact with water, it naturally oxidises, which shows as a darkening of the surface and the formation of a patina. This is not a flaw but unmistakable proof of the metal's authenticity. You can restore the mug's original radiant colour in a flash: simply mix a little lemon juice with kitchen salt and clean the surface with the soft side of a sponge (a drop of vinegar helps with heavier tarnishing). Then rinse the mug well with clean water and wipe it dry.

Remember that this piece does not belong in the dishwasher, nor does it tolerate aggressive chemicals or steel wool.
Copper vessels in Ayurveda

According to thousand-year-old Indian Ayurveda, drinking water from a copper mug (known in Sanskrit as Tamra Jal) is an ideal way to bring all three basic energies in the body – Vata, Pitta and Kapha – into balance. Letting water rest in copper for a long time naturally purifies it and harmonises its pH. The water thus gains a specific energy and trace elements which, according to tradition, help awaken the body, kick-start immunity and support vitality right from the morning. Drinking water from a copper vessel in the morning on an empty stomach is a traditional way to support metabolism and improve the function of the immune system.

Notice: A change in colour is not a defect; it is a natural process of copper. Do not wash in the dishwasher. Do not use for hot or acidic drinks. Not recommended for people with a copper metabolism disorder. The product is the result of handcraft, so minor imperfections such as scratches and stains are not grounds for a complaint.
