Enrich your daily drinking routine with a touch of pure nature and traditional Indian craft. This pure handle-free copper cup will catch your eye at first sight with its elegant, slightly conical shape. We offer it in several variants of original decoration, so you can choose exactly the pattern that best complements your home or desk. It will last you for many years, so it is an ecological and sustainable product that replaces single-use plastics and brings a beautiful ritual to drinking water.
How to use the copper cup correctly?
Copper tableware is intended exclusively for clean, still water. Simply fill the cup in the evening before bed, let the water rest and drink it in the morning after waking up.
The cup is not suitable for acidic drinks (fruit juices, juices or lemon water), which could react chemically with the copper surface in an undesirable way. For safety reasons we also do not recommend using it for hot drinks and teas – copper is an excellent heat conductor, the cup heats up very quickly and there would be a risk of burns. Handle the cup carefully; copper is a naturally soft metal that is prone to denting in a fall.
Care for the cup and its cleaning
Copper is a living material and over time it naturally undergoes a process of oxidation, due to which the metal darkens and acquires a patina. This is not a defect but proof of the purity of the material. You can easily restore the original radiant look and high shine using ordinary lemon juice and kitchen salt – mix them and clean the surface of the cup with the soft side of a sponge. In case of heavier darkening you can add a drop of vinegar. Finally, rinse the cup thoroughly with clean water and dry it.
Never wash the cup in the dishwasher and do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents or steel wool on it!
Copper vessels in Ayurveda
Traditional Indian Ayurveda views water from a copper vessel (known as Tamra Jal) as one of the fundamental ways to balance all three doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Storing water in copper works as a natural purifying process. The water gains a trace amount of this mineral, maintains an ideal pH and, according to tradition, helps kick-start metabolism and support the harmony of the whole organism. Drinking water from a copper vessel in the morning on an empty stomach is a traditional way to support metabolism and improve the function of the immune system.
Notice: A change in colour is not a defect; it is a natural process of copper. Do not wash in the dishwasher. Do not use for hot or acidic drinks. Not recommended for people with a copper metabolism disorder. The product is the result of handcraft, so minor imperfections such as scratches and stains are not grounds for a complaint.
